"No American Should Go Without Basic Health Care"
That is the sentiment Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) express in a piece in The Politico. "60 million Americans still lack meaningful access to primary health care, dental care, mental health counseling and low-cost prescription drugs," say Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Jim Clyburn.
With the new administration facing the current economic crisis and the continued healthcare debate, it will be interesting to see how federal spending affects health care, specifically dental care. They suggest that with "less than 0.5% of overall U.S. spending on medical care, we could provide primary health care to every American who needs it," adding, "In addition to meeting compelling needs, this upfront investment would more than pay for itself.
