The Harvard School of Dental Medicine released information today regarding the suspected H1N1 (swine flu) cases associated with the dental school. According to the statement, "The total cluster of H1N1 cases among dental students at Harvard is 10 with three cases confirmed. All of the affected students are reportedly doing well."
Harvard School of Dental Medicine will reopen May 7, 2009 after the Boston Commission of Public Health approved the reopening of the dental school for classes, patient care, research, and educational activities. The school is stressing that any student, faculty, and staff member that is healthy and does not exhibit flu-like symptoms should continue normal activities at the dental school. As a preventive measure, administrators advise that anyone with flu-like symptoms should remain home for seven days after the onset of illness. Additional instructions for those with flu-like symptoms may be found on their website.
