In light of the recent concerns surrounding denture creams and adhesives that contain zinc, the American Dental Association (ADA) released a statement urging denture wearers to see their dentist, if their dentures are ill-fitting or problematic.
Why would you see your dentist if you wear dentures? This isn't a cash grab - I promise. Your dentist will monitor how your dentures fit, and make adjustments to accommodate your changing gum tissue. Along with your denture adjustments, your dentist will do a thorough examination of your mouth, to check for any signs of oral cancer, thrush, even gum disease.
If you wear dentures, you shouldn't have to rely on denture creams and adhesives to keep your dentures from causing embarrassing situations, along with affecting your quality of life. Speak to your dentist if your dentures are uncomfortable or just don't fit anymore.

This is a very timely comment. Well done.

Quite Interesting ….
There is a remedy for loose denture and it is dental implants. Dentures will become stable if they can be anchored to 2 or more underlying dental implants.
Shawn, many denture wearers lost all their teeth because they either hated going to the dentist or couldn’t afford to go.
I’m sure many would be better served by a denture reline, new set of choppers, or Dental Implants to support or even eliminate the dentures.
Yet, as long as they can get by with creams, adhesives and the like, they’ll probably keep avoiding dentists.

Shawn, it is disturbing to think about how they’re gradually ingesting that denture adhesive.

The more you hate dentists the less teeth you’ll have to worry about. Dental implants are fantastic, but amongst the dentist hating crowd there are “Pain People” and “Money People.
The Money People are those who HATE spending money on dental care, even if they have plenty of it. The not likely to suddenly cough up the dough needed for ideal treatment.
