Fall is upon us and Thanksgiving is just right around the corner. As you gather with friends and family for your magnificent feast, it’s important to remember oral health.

Proper nutrition is essential to maintaining good oral health. Many times, improving your diet can help prevent tooth decay and gum disease.

You can still have a delicious Thanksgiving dinner by including different foods from these five major food groups.

  • Milk – Great in mashed potatoes
  • Meat – Turkey or ham
  • Grains – Stuffing and warm bread drizzled with butter
  • Vegetables – Yummy yams and broccoli casserole
  • Fruits – Cranberry sauce and delicious fruit salad

So you see, you can have many of your favorite foods that are also nutritious and play a major role in optimum dental health.

Have a happy Thanksgiving and don't forget to brush and floss!
