Attached Gingiva - Definition of Attached Gingiva

Definition:

Part of your oral anatomy, attached gingiva is the dense gum tissue that is tightly bound to the tooth and the underlying bone which makes it unmovable. This tissue is designed to withstand the friction from the food we eat and mechanical friction such as that from a toothbrush. Attached gingiva is typically a pink to coral color with a slight stippled or textured look.
