Definition: Carbamide peroxide is hydrogen peroxide that also contains the organic compound urea.

Carbamide peroxide is used in dentistry to whiten the teeth. Carbamide peroxide is also used at lower concentrations to treat canker sores, irritations, inflammation, and lesions in the mouth.
